Japan IS NOT the world leader in Innovation, despite tech-driven story

This is more ROT, RUBBISH & DRIVEL. Cisco!

I like technology but to equate technology with innovation is STUPID. Technology is a tool and it is NOT the change itself, nor is it necessarily positive. This irritates the you-know-what out of me, because this stuff is regurgitated by a few in the media ad nauseaum, verbatim from the Media Release.
Innovation (when used in the sense of being positive) is a positive change…

but to say Japan is innovative based on technology alone without looking at market opportunities, connectuions to other global cities, universities and world-class institutions and ‘dare I say it’ CONFORMITY as well as Sheer wight of creative contribution, there is absolutely no comparison between USA & EUROPE with Japan or China. To say there is is SHEER ROT and makes the basic mistake of confusing technology (a tool) with innovation (a positive change outcome).

Or tactics and tools with outcomes in short.

We all know I rank Boston in the USA or Vienna as having much longer histories of innovation, as well as NYC and Paris. People who say the French are not innovative are associating vast swathes of change with innovation, when in reality innovation is positive change. Paris, Vienna, Boston, New York, Leipzig, Praha, Melbourne,… innovation hubs…

This is another side to the story. JAPAN has a creativity problem through homeogeneity. BOSTON doesn’t. Nor does VIENNA or PARIS. People are making the mistake of confusing technology (Japan) vast social upheaval (China) or steam roller competition-driven change (US) with INNOVATION (positive change).

Vast unrelenting change or new technology every 5 minutes, does not necessarily make somewhere innovative, and it is more balanced to look for positive change, and innovation and examples where innovation makes a positive difference in people’s lives.

Otherwise it’s more fried chicken innovation. Another new phone with buttons too small… fried chicken. more new plasma TVs … more fried chicken. New appliances nobody needs … more fried chicken.

Christopher Hire. And Don’t forget it’s REAL positive change we are after…! NOT fried Chicken…
