Defining Innovation Pockets
Innovation
Pockets are micro-groups – sometimes, individuals, and
even more often small close teams inside a city or organization.
In general, in terms of relationship to
innovation, our models show that innovation tends to arises in
pockets, where the right pre-conditions of inspiration,
implementation and access to a market for the innovation
(or the Hire Innovation Loop) all exist.
Innovation is also possible in various other configurations of
Innovation Pockets that are detailed further in our
forthcoming publication on the topic.
So where's my pocket?
The pocket is generally a group of
individuals that have some similarities and some differences,
but wherein the creative tension is right and exists that allow
